Scenic View of Pena Palace Sintra Portugal
Pena Palace was built in the early part of the 19th century as a residence during Queen Mary II and Prince Consort Fernando II on the site of an old monastery on a hill with panoramic views of Sintra and surroundings . It is a romantic castle by definition, Neuschwanstein Castle of Portugal.
Pena Palace Park covers 200 hectares! (to visit it you have to stay at least 2 days in Sintra). It is full of beautiful things: fountains, columns, caves, bridges, a monastery, statues, a small temple, a small chapel, amazing gardens, sounds good, right? A green paradise which, unfortunately, we didn`t have time to visit.
